Topics
The Topics page groups your tracked prompts by theme and shows each topic's AI visibility, share of voice, mentions, citations and 7-day trend.
Updated
The AnswerixAI Topics page shows how visible your brand is in AI answers for each topic you track. A topic is a theme that groups related prompts, such as Pricing or Project management for startups. Looking at topics instead of single prompts shows which areas of your market you win and which you lose.
This guide is for anyone planning content or reporting on AI visibility. Open Topics in the sidebar (/dashboard/topics).
What does the Topics page show?
The AnswerixAI Topics page shows four KPI cards, a Topic Suggestions card and a Topic leaderboard that ranks every topic by visibility rate, share of voice, mentions and citations. The page covers the last 30 days of tracking across all tracked prompts, and the header has three buttons:
- Export CSV downloads the topic leaderboard.
- Manage topics opens the brand's topic management page.
- Add Topic creates a topic (admins and managers only).
What do the KPI cards mean?
The four Topics KPI cards are Tracked topics, Best performer (the topic with the highest visibility rate), Biggest gap (the topic with the lowest visibility rate) and Top mover (7d) (the topic with the biggest rise in visibility rate over the last 7 days).
| Card | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Tracked topics | How many topics you track, and how many prompts have no topic. |
| Best performer | The topic with the highest visibility rate. |
| Biggest gap | The topic with the lowest visibility rate. |
| Top mover (7d) | The topic with the biggest rise in visibility rate over the last 7 days compared with the 7 days before, in points. If no topic rose, it shows the smallest fall. |
What does the topic leaderboard show?
The Topic leaderboard lists every topic. Click a topic to open its detail page.
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Topic | The topic name. |
| Prompts | How many prompts belong to the topic. |
| Visibility (30d) | The topic's visibility rate: the share of its prompts with results where AI answers mentioned or cited your brand at least once in the last 30 days. Hover to see Appeared in X of Y prompts. |
| SoV | Your share of voice in the topic: your mentions divided by your mentions plus competitor mentions. |
| Mentions | Total brand mentions across the topic's AI answers. |
| Citations | Total citations of your site across the topic's AI answers. |
| Trend | A 14-day sparkline and the change over the last 7 days versus the 7 days before. |
| Top competitor | The competitor with the highest share of voice in the topic. |
| Last run | When the topic's prompts were last tracked. |
You can sort by Prompts, Visibility (30d), SoV, Mentions, Citations and Last run.
How do topic suggestions work?
The Topic Suggestions card sits above the leaderboard and is collapsed by default. Expand it to see AI-generated topic ideas for your brand, each with a reason. Topics you already track and ideas you dismissed never reappear.
- Click Generate Suggestions (or Refresh) to create between 6 and 10 new topic ideas.
- Click + (Add to tracked topics) to add a topic.
- Click the dismiss button to remove an idea.
Suggestions don't expire. A new topic has no prompts yet, so assign or add prompts to start tracking it.
How do I add, rename or delete topics?
To add a topic, click Add Topic on the Topics page, or use Add Topic on the Manage topics page. Topic names must be unique within a brand.
To rename or delete a topic:
- Click Manage topics (
/dashboard/brands/{brand}/topics). - Click the pencil icon to rename a topic, then save. Prompts stay attached to it.
- Click the delete icon to remove a topic. The confirmation tells you how many prompts use it. Those prompts are kept but become uncategorized.
Topics can't be merged. To combine two topics, move the prompts from one to the other on the Prompts page, then delete the empty topic. Only admins and managers can change topics; other roles see the page read-only.
What is on the topic detail page?
The AnswerixAI topic detail page shows one topic's KPI cards, visibility trend, share of voice by platform, competitor comparison and prompt performance. Click a topic in the leaderboard to open it. The page contains:
- KPI cards: Visibility (the 0–100 visibility score for the topic, with how many answers mentioned and cited you), Brand mentions, Citations and Positive sentiment, each with its change.
- Visibility trend: your daily visibility for the topic against the competitor average.
- Share of voice by platform: your brand against competitors on each AI platform.
- Competitor comparison: your brand and up to 6 competitors ranked for this topic, with your own brand marked YOU.
- Prompt performance: the Top performers and the Needs improvement list, by average visibility score over the topic's last 50 runs. A link opens all prompt results for the topic on the Visibility page.
Which plans include Topics?
The Topics page and topic suggestions are included on every paid plan. Your plan's prompt limit sets how many prompts your topics can hold. See Prompts for prompt limits.
