Visibility
The Visibility page shows how often AI engines mention, cite and rank your brand, with share of voice, competitor leaderboard and filters.
Updated
The Visibility page is the main AI search visibility dashboard in AnswerixAI. It shows how often AI answer engines mention your brand, cite your website and name you early in their answers, and how that compares with your competitors. It is for marketing and SEO teams who check AI visibility regularly. Open Visibility in the sidebar (/dashboard/insights).
What is in the page header?
The AnswerixAI Visibility page header shows the brand name, when it was last run, and three buttons: Formulas, Export CSV and Reports. Formulas explains every metric, Export CSV downloads the raw AI answers behind the page, and Reports opens the Reports page.
- Formulas opens the How metrics are calculated dialog, which explains every metric on the page.
- Export CSV downloads the raw AI answers that match the current filters (up to 50,000 rows). Each row has the date, prompt, topic, platform, model, region, mention count, citation count, visibility score, sentiment, cited URLs and competitor mentions.
- Reports opens Reports.
While a tracking run is in progress, a banner under the header shows its progress.
How do the filters work?
The Visibility page has four filters, Date Range, Topic, Region and AI Model, and they apply to every metric and chart on the page except Recommendations. The default date range is 24h, and every change compares the selected period with the previous period of the same length.
- Date Range: 24h (default), 7d, 30d, 90d, All or Custom (pick From and To dates).
- Topic: one topic, or All Topics. Shown when the brand has topics.
- Region: one tracked region, or All Regions.
- AI Model: one AI platform, or All Platforms.
Every change (delta) on the page compares the selected period with the previous period of the same length. For example, 7d compares the last 7 days with the 7 days before. Changes in visibility, sentiment and share of voice are shown in points (pts). If a period has no results, the page says so and offers to reset the filters.
What do the KPI cards show?
Five KPI cards sit at the top of the AnswerixAI Visibility page: Visibility (your 0–100 score), Mentions, Citations, Positive Sentiment and Tracked Prompts. Each card shows its value for the selected filters, and most open a breakdown or a related page when you click them.
| Card | What it shows | Click to |
|---|---|---|
| Visibility | Your AI visibility score from 0 to 100, plus a coverage line such as appeared in 12/40 prompts (30%). | Open the Visibility breakdown |
| Mentions | How many times AI answers referenced your brand by name, with the change vs the previous period. | Open the Mentions breakdown |
| Citations | How many times AI answers cited your domain as a source with a link. | Go to Citations |
| Positive Sentiment | The share of answers mentioning you that describe you positively, with the change in points. | — |
| Tracked Prompts | Prompts tracked for this brand, shown as of N on your plan (or Unlimited). | Go to Prompts |
What does the Visibility card measure?
The Visibility card shows your 0–100 Visibility score across every AI answer that matches your filters, including answers that don't mention you. AnswerixAI calculates it as 100 × (0.6 × mention rate + 0.25 × citation rate + 0.15 × position factor):
Visibility = 100 × (0.6 × mention rate + 0.25 × citation rate + 0.15 × position factor)
Visibility scoring explains each part of the formula, how position is weighted, and why sentiment isn't included.
How do I see what changed a metric?
To see what changed a metric, click the Visibility or Mentions card on the Visibility page. A breakdown panel compares the selected window with the previous window of the same length and shows the change by prompt, platform and topic. The panel contains:
- The total, the previous value and the change.
- A short summary naming the prompt with the biggest drop or gain, and the platform with the biggest drop or gain.
- Three tabs, Prompts, Platforms and Topics, each listing current value, previous value and change. Prompt names link to their prompt detail page.
How do I compare my brand with competitors?
The AI Visibility — Brand vs Competitors chart plots your visibility score against your tracked competitors over time. Each point is the score over the selected window ending on that day, so the newest point matches the Visibility card. The chart header shows the change in points and the dates of the comparison period.
The Leaderboard next to the chart ranks your brand and competitors by visibility score. It shows the top five and a Show all link. Click Head-to-Head Comparison to open Competitors. If you track no competitors yet, the page shows No competitors tracked yet instead.
What does share of voice show?
Share of voice is your slice of all brand mentions in AI answers, counting your mentions plus your tracked competitors' mentions. The Visibility page shows it in two cards, Share of Voice by Platform and Share of Voice Trend, and calculates it like this:
SOV = your mentions ÷ (your mentions + competitor mentions) × 100
Two cards show it:
- Share of Voice by Platform: your overall share of voice and how it splits across AI platforms, with the change in points.
- Share of Voice Trend: how your share of voice moved over the selected period.
What are Recommendations?
Recommendations at the bottom of the page lists ideas from your stored analyses. They don't follow the date filters.
- Topic Opportunities lists suggested topics. See all opens Topic Suggestions on the Topics page.
- Prompt Opportunities lists suggested prompts with their topic and estimated monthly volume. See all opens Prompt Suggestions on the Prompts page.
If no suggestions exist yet, each card links you to generate ideas.
How do I read a full AI answer?
The Visibility page shows totals, so to read what an AI engine actually said you open a prompt and then one of its results. The result page shows the full Response, every cited URL and the engine's Query fan-out searches:
- Open a prompt, from the Prompts tab in a breakdown panel or from the Prompts page.
- On the prompt detail page, expand a platform under Platform Results to see its runs.
- Click the eye icon (View response detail) next to a run. The result page (
/dashboard/insights/{result}) shows the platform, model and sentiment, the visibility score, mentions and citations, the full Response, every cited URL under Citations, and the Query fan-out searches the engine ran, when it ran any.
How do I investigate a drop in visibility?
To investigate a drop in visibility, confirm the drop on the Visibility page, find which prompts, platforms or topics caused it, check whether a competitor gained what you lost, and then read the answers and sources behind it. Work through these steps:
- Confirm the drop. Set the date range to 7d or 30d and check the change on the Visibility card and the trend chart.
- Find where it happened. Click the Visibility card and check the Prompts, Platforms and Topics tabs for the biggest drops.
- Narrow the view. Use the Topic or AI Model filter to isolate the affected area.
- Check competitors. Look at the Leaderboard and Share of Voice Trend to see whether a competitor gained what you lost.
- Read the answers. Open the affected prompt and read the full responses and citations on the result page.
- Check the sources. Open Citations to see which domains AI engines cite for your topics.
- Act on it. Look for a matching action in the Action Center, or create content for the prompt from Content.
Which plans include the Visibility page?
The Visibility page is included on every paid plan. The AI platforms in the AI Model filter depend on your plan: Starter tracks ChatGPT and Perplexity, and Growth and Business add Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews. Grok is part of Growth and Business but is currently paused.
