AI Shopping

Track the product cards AI engines show for your prompts, see which products are yours or a competitor's, and measure your shopping share of voice.

Updated

AnswerixAI AI Shopping shows which products AI engines recommend as product cards when people ask shopping questions, and how many of those cards are yours. It is for e-commerce brands that want to track product visibility in AI answers alongside their brand visibility. You turn it on per brand with Shopping mode, and it adds a Shopping page to the dashboard.

What are AI shopping cards?

A shopping card is a product result that an AI engine shows inside or next to its answer, usually with a product title, price, image and merchant link. AI engines return them for commercial-intent prompts such as "best running shoes for marathon training".

AnswerixAI stores product cards from four sources:

  • ChatGPT Shopping, which runs only when Shopping mode is on.
  • Perplexity, Google AI Mode and Microsoft Copilot, when their answers to your tracked prompts include product cards.

Each card is saved with its title, brand, price and currency, image, merchant link, platform and region.

How do I turn on Shopping mode?

Shopping mode is a per-brand setting. Only admins can change it.

  1. Open brand settings and stay on the General tab.
  2. In the Shopping mode card, check This brand is in e-commerce / shopping.

Turning Shopping mode on does three things:

  • Adds ChatGPT Shopping to the platforms of every existing prompt under the brand.
  • Adds ChatGPT Shopping automatically to every new prompt you create for the brand.
  • Shows Shopping in the sidebar while that brand is selected.

Turning Shopping mode off stops ChatGPT Shopping runs for the brand. Cards already collected stay in your history.

Which plans include AI Shopping?

Full AI Shopping analytics are included on Growth, Business and Enterprise. On Starter, a brand with Shopping mode on shows the Shopping sidebar item greyed out, with a badge naming the plan you need, and the item doesn't open the page. If a Starter user opens the Shopping page by its address (/dashboard/shopping), only the Shopping card rate card shows data, and the other cards and tabs show an upgrade prompt.

How are cards matched to my brand and competitors?

AnswerixAI gives every shopping card one of three roles: Own when it matches your brand name or domains, Competitor when it matches a competitor you track, and Other for everything else. Your brand is checked first, then each tracked competitor:

  • Own: the card's brand, title or merchant matches your brand name, or the merchant domain is one of your brand's domains.
  • Competitor: the card matches the name or domain of a competitor you track.
  • Other: anything else.

Competitors only count if you track them, so add the brands you sell against on the Competitors page, with their domains.

What does the Shopping page show?

The AnswerixAI Shopping page has a filter bar (date range, platform and region), five summary cards, and four tabs: Overview, Card-eligible prompts, My Products and Competitors. The default date range is the last 30 days.

Which filters does the Shopping page have?

The Shopping page has three filters: Date range (Last 7d, Last 30d, Last 90d or All time), Platform and Region.

  • Date range: Last 7d, Last 30d, Last 90d or All time. The default is the last 30 days.
  • Platform: all platforms, or one platform the brand has tracking results on.
  • Region: all regions, or one region the brand has tracking results in.

What do the Shopping summary cards measure?

The five Shopping summary cards measure Shopping card rate, Trigger rate, Your products surfaced, Shopping share of voice and Top merchant for your products. Shopping share of voice is your cards divided by all cards in the window.

Card What it measures
Shopping card rate The share of the brand's AI answers in the window that returned at least one product card.
Trigger rate The share of your tracked prompts that returned at least one card.
Your products surfaced The number of cards matched to your brand.
Shopping share of voice Your cards divided by all cards in the window.
Top merchant for your products The merchant domain that appears most often on your cards, with its card count.

What does the Overview tab show?

The Shopping Overview tab has two charts: Card rate by platform and Your shopping presence — last 30 days.

  • Card rate by platform: the share of answers on each platform that returned at least one card.
  • Your shopping presence — last 30 days: your cards and all cards per day. This chart always covers the last 30 days, whatever date range you pick; the platform and region filters still apply.

What does the Card-eligible prompts tab show?

The Card-eligible prompts tab lists every prompt that has returned cards, with Prompt, Topic, Platforms with cards, Total cards, an Own / Competitor / Other split bar and Last seen. Search the list with Search prompts.... Click a row to open Shopping Card Appearances, which shows each answer that returned cards with its platform, region, time and the cards themselves (title, price and merchant link).

What does the My Products tab show?

The Shopping My Products tab lists the products matched to your brand, grouped by product brand and title, with each product's platforms, regions, impressions, last price, top merchant and when it was last seen:

Column Meaning
Product Title The product name, with its image when available.
Platforms The AI platforms that showed the product.
Regions The regions where it appeared.
Impressions The number of cards for the product in the window.
Last Price The price on the most recent card.
Top Merchant The merchant domain seen most often for the product.
Last Seen When the product last appeared.

Click a product to see every appearance: platform, region, date, the prompt that triggered it, a Merchant Link, and Raw Card Details with the card data as returned.

What does the Competitors tab show?

The Competitors tab starts with a Competitor Summary card for each tracked competitor, showing Distinct Products and Shopping SOV (its cards divided by all cards). Below it, a product table with the same columns as My Products plus Competitor lists every product matched to a competitor.

Can I export shopping data?

Yes. AnswerixAI Export CSV is available on three Shopping tabs, Card-eligible prompts, My Products and Competitors, and each export has these fields:

  • Card-eligible prompts: prompt, topic, platforms, total cards, own, competitor and other card counts, and last seen.
  • My Products: product title, product brand, impressions, platforms, regions, last price, currency, top merchant and last seen.
  • Competitors: the same product fields plus the competitor name.

Is shopping data part of my Visibility score?

No. ChatGPT Shopping answers are kept separate from Visibility, Citations, competitor comparisons and the Daily Pulse. They only feed the Shopping page and the Shopping report section.

Can I add shopping data to reports?

Yes. When a brand has Shopping mode on, the report builder offers a Shopping section. In a generated report it appears as Shopping Visibility, with your shopping share of voice and its change against the previous period, products surfaced, card rate and top merchant.

The section isn't offered for brands with Shopping mode off. See Reports.

Shopping cards are also available to AI assistants through the MCP server.
